about

About This Album

This album is the culmination of 1 year of live tracked experimental sessions. The very first session in this collection was recorded on the 2nd day of January, 2019. The final recording created in this 56 track collection was recorded on January 6th, 2020.

In that time, I wrote and released my last Full-Length LP “Ritual,” as well as my recently finished and soon to come LPs to be released in 2020 entitled “The Inevitable Death of Language,” and “ODD BLOOD.” Info on both to come in time.

When not actively working on something for a specific album, I constantly challenge myself with hitting the record button and having a free-form impromptu session using the variety of gear within my studio.

Every single track on this album lived only once within the moment and died as soon as I hit stop on the recorder. They would then live in a folder on my server entitled “Live Sessions.” I finally decided I was going to just trash them all, as I knew they weren’t really created for anything other than the process.

I decided to release them for free, because right now friends, it’s a weird fucking world out there. It seems to get stranger by the day, but we have each other. While we have the extra time in our day to fill with activities, this music is almost made to just be an ambient backdrop.

Mistakes and all, these tracks are very raw. Mainly in their most pure form. Not much in the way of processing after recording. Just the effects that were used, as they were used, and mixed in the moment (though some could certainly be remixed better.)

I truly hope you find enjoyment in some of these. I’ll start building up the next round of “Hard Drive Dumps” until next year, because next year, we will still be standing strongly together, and there is so much more noise to be made.

X.

about

Skeleton Beach Knoxville, Tennessee

Skeleton Beach's origins began as a simple homage / exploration into the sounds and textures of classic horror film scores, and 70s modular electronic music.

Every album is an experimental process of blending vintage analog / modular synths, drum machines, piano and percussive elements to create ambient, hypnotic, and at times chaotic music that spans the full spectrum of electronic music.
